                     Whereas the Administrator of the Government of Quebec the Honourable Paul-Arthur Gendreau, a Judge of the Court of Appeal of Quebec, will be unable to act on February 18, 2005, and it is therefore necessary that another person be appointed Administrator for that day;

                     Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867, hereby:

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Paul-Arthur Gendreau as Administrator of the Government of Quebec, effective February 18, 2005;

(b) appoints François Côté to be Administrator of the Government of Quebec, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective February 18, 2005;

(c) terminates the appointment of François Côté as Administrator, effective February 19, 2005; and

(d) appoints the Honourable Paul-Arthur Gendreau to be Administrator of the Government of Quebec, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective February 19, 2005.

                     Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec, l’honorable Paul-Arthur Gendreau, juge de la Cour d’Appel du Québec, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions le 18 février 2005 et qu’il est donc nécessaire qu’une autre personne soit nommée administrateur pour cette période,

                     À ces causes, sur recommandation du premier ministre et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Paul-Arthur Gendreau au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec, avec prise d’effet le 18 février 2005;

b) nomme François Côté à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec pour qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de Québec durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité du lieutenant-gouverneur, avec prise d’effet le 18 février 2005;

c) met fin à la nomination de François Côté au poste d’administrateur, avec prise d’effet le 19 février 2005;

d) nomme l’honorable Paul-Arthur Gendreau à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec pour qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Québec durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité du lieutenant-gouverneur, avec prise d’effet le 19 février 2005.
