                     Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Defence, hereby:

          (a)      pursuant to subsection 18(1) of the National Defence Act, terminates the appointment of General Raymond Roland Henault as Chief of the Defence Staff, effective April 1, 2005; and

          (b)      authorizes General Raymond Roland Henault to accept the appointment as Chairman of the Military Committee of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, at the rank of General, for a term of three years, effective June 15, 2005.

                     Sur recommandation du ministre de la Défense nationale, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

          a)       en vertu du paragraphe 18(1) de la Loi sur la défense nationale, met fin au mandat du général Raymond Roland Henault à titre de chef d’état-major de la défense, à compter du 1^er avril 2005;

          b)       autorise le général Raymond Roland Henault à accepter la nomination à titre de Président du Comité militaire de l’Organisation du Traité de l’Atlantique Nord, au rang de général, pour un mandat de trois ans, à compter du 15 juin 2005.
