                     Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Defence, pursuant to subsection 112(1) of the Public Safety Act, 2002, assented to on  

May 6, 2004, being chapter 15 of the Statutes of Canada, 2004, hereby fixes May 21, 2004 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act come into force:

(a) section 74, to the extent that it replaces the definition “emergency” in subsection 2(1) of the National Defence Act; and

(b) sections 75, 76 and 79.

                     Sur recommandation du ministre de la Défense nationale et en vertu du paragraphe 112(1) de la Loi de 2002 sur la sécurité publique, sanctionnée le 6 mai 2004, chapitre 15 des Lois du Canada (2004), Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil fixe au 21 mai 2004 la date d’entrée en vigueur des dispositions suivantes de cette loi :

a) l’article 74 en ce qui touche le remplacement de la définition de « état d’urgence » au paragraphe 2(1) de la Loi sur la défense nationale;

b) les articles 75, 76 et 79.
