                     Whereas the Honourable W. Dan Chilcott, a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice (Ontario), will attain the age of  

seventy-five years on May 15, 2004, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

                     And whereas Mr. Justice Chilcott has held judicial office for at least ten years;

                     Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $146,266.66 to the Honourable W. Dan Chilcott, commencing  

on May 15, 2004, and continuing thenceforth during his life.

                     Attendu que l’honorable W. Dan Chilcott, juge de la Cour supérieure de justice (Ontario), atteindra l’âge de  

soixante-quinze ans le 15 mai 2004 et, en conséquence, cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l’article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

                     Attendu que le juge Chilcott a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

                     À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges,  

Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable W. Dan Chilcott, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 146 266,66 $, payable à compter du 15 mai 2004.
