Whereas the Honourable Jean Archambault, a Judge of the Superior Court of Quebec, died on August 21, 2002, while holding such office;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice,

(a) pursuant to section 44 of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $70,066.66 to Marie Charlton Archambault, widow of the Honourable Jean Archambault, to commence on August 22, 2002, and to continue thenceforth during her life; and

(b) pursuant to section 47 of the Judge Act, grants an annuity of $14,013.33 to Michel Archambault, son of the Honourable Jean Archambault, to commence on August 22, 2002, and to continue to be paid to him so long as he is a child within the meaning of the Judges Act.

Attendu que l'honorable Jean Archambault est décédé le 21 août 2002 alors qu'il occupait le poste de juge de la Cour supérieure du Québec,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) en vertu de l'article 44 de la Loi sur les juges, accorde une pension viagère de 70 066,66 $ à madame Marie Charlton Archambault, veuve de l'honorable Jean Archambault, payable à compter du 22 août 2002;

b) en vertu de l'article 47 de la Loi sur les juges, accorde une pension annuelle de 14 013,33 $ à Michel Archambault, fils de l'honorable Jean Archambault, payable à compter du 22 août 2002, et tant et aussi longtemps que ce dernier est un enfant au sens de la Loi sur les juges.
