                 Whereas the Honourable W. Andrew MacKay, a Judge of the Federal Court, will attain the age of seventy-five years on March 20, 2004, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

                 And whereas Mr. Justice MacKay has held judicial office for at least ten years;

                 Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $144,400 to the Honourable W. Andrew MacKay, commencing on March 20, 2004, and continuing thenceforth during his life.

                 Attendu que l’honorable W. Andrew MacKay, juge de la Cour fédérale, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 20 mars 2004 et, en conséquence, cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l’article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

                 Attendu que le juge MacKay a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

                 À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable W. Andrew MacKay, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 144 400 $, payable à compter du 20 mars 2004.
