                     Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to the Special Appointment Regulations, No. 2003-18, hereby appoints John Adams of Ottawa, Ontario, to be Commissioner, Canadian Coast Guard, to hold office during pleasure, and fixes his salary at the rate set out in the schedule hereto, which salary is within the range ($157,000 - $184,700), effective December 12, 2003.

                     Sur recommandation du premier ministre et en vertu du Règlement n° 2003-18 portant affectation spéciale, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil nomme John Adams, d’Ottawa (Ontario), au poste de commissaire, Garde côtière canadienne, à titre amovible, et fixe son traitement au taux spécifié à l'annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l'échelle (157 000 $ - 184 700 $), à compter du 12 décembre 2003.
