Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the representation in the House of Commons for the electoral district of Beaches–East York, in Ontario, by reason of the resignation of the Honourable Nathaniel Erskine-Smith;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, under subsection 57(1.1) of the Canada Elections Act,

(a) directs the Chief Electoral Officer to issue a writ to the returning officer for the electoral district of Beaches–East York, in Ontario;

(b) fixes the date of issue of the writ to be July 26, 2026; and

(c) fixes the date for voting to be August 31, 2026.

Attendu qu’une vacance s’est produite à la Chambre des communes pour la circonscription électorale de Beaches–East York (Ontario) en raison de la démission de l’honorable Nathaniel Erskine-Smith,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du premier ministre et en vertu du paragraphe 57(1.1) de la Loi électorale du Canada, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) ordonne au directeur général des élections de délivrer un bref au directeur du scrutin de la circonscription électorale de Beaches–East York (Ontario);

b) fixe la date de délivrance du bref au 26 juillet 2026;

c) fixe la date de tenue du scrutin au 31 août 2026.
