Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, under subsections 117(1) and (2) of the Countering Foreign Interference Act (“the Act”), chapter 16 of the Statutes of Canada, 2024, fixes August 4, 2026 as the day on which Part 4 of the Act — other than the following provisions of the Foreign Influence Transparency and Accountability Act, as enacted by section 113 of the Act — comes into force

(a) paragraphs (c) and (d) of the definition public office holder in section 2; and

(b) paragraph 4(c).

Sur recommandation du ministre de la Sécurité publique et de la Protection civile et en vertu des paragraphes 117(1) et (2) de la Loi sur la lutte contre l’ingérence étrangère (la « Loi »), chapitre 16 des Lois du Canada (2024), Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil fixe au 4 août 2026 la date d’entrée en vigueur de la partie 4 de la Loi, à l’exception des dispositions ci-après de la Loi sur la transparence et la responsabilité en matière d’influence étrangère, laquelle est édictée par l’article 113 de la Loi.

a) les alinéas c) et d) de la définition de titulaire d’une charge publique, à l’article 2;

b) l’alinéa 4c).
