Whereas, after consultation with the leader of every recognized party in the Senate and the House of Commons, and by resolutions of the Senate dated March 25, 2026, and of the House of Commons dated April 21, 2026, the Senate and the House of Commons have approved the appointment of Annette Ryan as Parliamentary Budget Officer;

Therefore, the Committee of the Privy Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, under section 79.1 of the Parliament of Canada Act, advises that a Commission under the Great Seal of Canada do issue appointing Annette Ryan of Ottawa, Ontario, to be Parliamentary Budget Officer, to hold office during good behaviour for a term of seven years, and fixes her remuneration and certain conditions of employment as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range ($297,500 - $349,900), effective April 22, 2026.

Attendu que, après consultation du chef de chacun des partis reconnus au Sénat et à la Chambre des communes, en vertu des résolutions du Sénat en date du 25 mars 2026 et de la Chambre des communes en date du 21 avril 2026, le Sénat et la Chambre des communes ont approuvé la nomination d’Annette Ryan, à titre de directrice parlementaire du budget,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du premier ministre, en vertu de l’article 79.1 de la Loi sur le parlement du Canada, le Comité du Conseil privé recommande de nommer, par commission sous le grand sceau, Annette Ryan, d’Ottawa (Ontario), directrice parlementaire du budget, à titre inamovible pour un mandat de sept ans, et fixe sa rémunération et certaines conditions d’emploi conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle (297 500 $ – 349 900 $), à compter du 22 avril 2026.
