Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, under subsection 10(1) and section 16 of the Royal Canadian Mint Act, appoints Simon Kamel of Ottawa, Ontario, to be Master of the Mint on an interim basis, to hold office during pleasure for a term of eight months, or until such time as a new Master of the Mint is appointed, whichever occurs first, and fixes his remuneration and certain conditions of employment as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range CEO 5 ($332,400 - $391,000), effective March 31, 2026.
