Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the representation in the House of Commons for the electoral district of Scarborough Southwest, in Ontario, by reason of the resignation of the Honourable William Sterling Blair;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, under subsection 57(1.1) of the Canada Elections Act,

(a) directs the Chief Electoral Officer to issue a writ to the returning officer for the electoral district of Scarborough Southwest, in Ontario;

(b) fixes the date of issue of the writ to be March 8, 2026, and

(c) fixes the date for voting to be April 13, 2026

À ces causes, sur recommandation du premier ministre et en vertu du paragraphe 57(1.1) de la Loi électorale du Canada, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) ordonne au directeur général des élections de délivrer un bref au directeur du scrutin de la circonscription électorale de Scarborough-Sud-Ouest (Ontario);

b) fixe la date de délivrance du bref au 8 mars 2026,

c) fixe la date de tenue du scrutin au 13 avril 2026
