Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, after consultation with the Board of Directors of VIA Rail Canada Inc., under sections 105 and 108 of the Financial Administration Act, appoints Mathieu Paquette of Laval, Quebec, to be President and Chief Executive Officer of VIA Rail Canada Inc., on an interim basis, to hold office during pleasure for a term of eighteen months or until such time as a new President and Chief Executive Officer is appointed, whichever occurs first, and fixes his remuneration and certain conditions of employment as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range CEO 5 ($332,400 - $391,000).

Sur recommandation du ministre des Transports, après consultation du conseil d’administration de VIA Rail Canada Inc., en vertu des articles 105 et 108 de la Loi sur la gestion des finances publiques, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil nomme Mathieu Paquette, de Laval (Québec), président et premier dirigeant par intérim de VIA Rail Canada Inc., à titre amovible pour un mandat de dix-huit mois ou jusqu’à ce qu’un nouveau président et premier dirigeant soit nommé, selon la première de ces éventualités, et fixe sa rémunération et certaines conditions d’emploi conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle CEO 5 (332 400 $ – 391 000 $).
