Whereas subsection 31(3) of the Accessible Canada Act provides that in the event of the absence or incapacity of the Chief Executive Officer, or a vacancy in that office, the Minister may authorize any person to act as Chief Executive Officer, but no person so authorized has authority to act for a term of more than ninety days without the Governor in Council’s approval;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Diversity, Inclusion and Persons with Disabilities, under section 30 of the Accessible Canada Act, approves the Minister’s decision to authorize Diodoro (Dino) Zuppa of Ottawa, Ontario, to act as Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Accessibility Standards Development Organization, to hold office during pleasure for a term of eighteen months or until such time as a new Chief Executive Officer is appointed, whichever occurs first, and fixes his remuneration as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range GC 5 ($163,800 - $192,600), effective October 30, 2024.

Attendu que le paragraphe 31(3) de la Loi canadienne sur l’accessibilité prévoit qu’en cas d’absence ou d’empêchement du président-directeur général ou un poste vacant dans ce bureau, le ministre peut autoriser toute personne à agir à titre de président-directeur général, mais que la personne ainsi autorisée ne peut agir pendant une période supérieure à quatre-vingt-dix jours sans l’approbation du gouverneur en conseil;

À ces causes, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Diversité, de l’Inclusion et des Personnes en situation de handicap, en vertu de l’article 30 de la Loi canadienne sur l’accessibilité, approuve la décision de la ministre d’autoriser Diodoro (Dino) Zuppa, d’Ottawa (Ontario), à agir à titre de président-directeur général de l’Organisation canadienne d’élaboration de normes d’accessibilité, à titre amovible pour un mandat de dix-huit mois ou jusqu’à ce qu’un nouveau président-directeur général soit nommé, selon la première de ces éventualités, et fixe sa rémunération conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle GC 5 (163 800 $ – 192 600 $), à compter du 30 octobre 2024.
