Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, under section 8 of the Nunavut Act:

(a) appoints Lew Phillip of Iqaluit, Nunavut, to be Deputy Commissioner of Nunavut to exercise and perform the powers, duties and functions of the Commissioner if the Commissioner is absent, ill or unable to act or if the office of Commissioner is vacant, for a term of three years; and

(b) fixes his salary at the rate set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range ($11,500 - $15,000).

This appointment is effective upon the Deputy Commissioner taking and subscribing the oath of office and the oath of allegiance prescribed under section 9 of the Nunavut Act.

Sur recommandation du premier ministre, en vertu de l’article 8 de la Loi sur le Nunavut, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) nomme Lew Phillip, d’Iqaluit (Nunavut), commissaire adjoint du Nunavut pour assurer l'intérim en cas d'absence, de maladie ou d'empêchement du commissaire ou de vacance de son poste, pour un mandat de trois ans;

b) fixe sa rémunération conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle (11 500 $ – 15 000 $)‍.

Cette nomination est en vigueur à compter du moment où le commissaire adjoint prêtera et souscrira les serments professionnel et d’allégeance prescrits au titre de l’article 9 de la Loi sur le Nunavut.
