Whereas, by Order in Council P.C. 2016-693 of July 29, 2016, the Independent Advisory Board for Supreme Court of Canada Judicial Appointments was established;

And whereas it is desirable to amend the composition of that Board;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, amends subsection 2‍(2) of the schedule to Order in Council P.C. 2016-693 of July 29, 2016, by deleting “and” at the end of paragraph (d), by adding “and” at the end of paragraph (e) and by adding the following after paragraph (e):

(f) a practising member in good standing of the bar of a province or territory, nominated by the Indigenous Bar Association.

Attendu que, par le décret C.P. 2016-693 du 29 juillet 2016, le Comité consultatif indépendant sur la nomination des juges de la Cour suprême du Canada été constitué;

Attendu qu’il est souhaitable de modifier la composition du Comité,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du premier ministre, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil modifie le paragraphe 2‍(2) de l’annexe du décret C.P. 2016-693 du 29 juillet 2016, après l’alinéa e), par adjonction de ce qui suit :

f) d’un avocat membre en règle du barreau d’une province ou d’un territoire où il exerce la profession et dont la nomination est proposée par l’Association du Barreau autochtone.
