Whereas the Honourable David E. Platts, a puisne judge of the Superior Court of Quebec for the district of Montréal, has become afflicted with a permanent infirmity disabling him from the due execution of his office and has tendered his resignation;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice,

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable David E. Platts; and

(b) pursuant to paragraph 42(1.1)(b) of the Judges Act, grants to the Honourable David E. Platts an annuity of $240,733.33, commencing on the day on which this Order is made and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable David E. Platts, juge de la Cour supérieure du Québec pour le district de Montréal, a donné sa démission pour incapacité par suite d’une infirmité permanente,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable David E. Platts;

b) en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1.1)b) de la Loi sur les juges, accorde à l’honorable David E. Platts, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 240 733,33 $ payable à compter de la date de prise du présent décret.
