 Whereas the office of the Chief Executive Officer of the Invest in Canada Hub is vacant;

Whereas the Minister for International Trade has appointed Katie Curran of Ottawa, Ontario, to act as Chief Executive Officer of the Invest in Canada Hub;

And whereas no person so appointed shall act for a period exceeding ninety days without the approval of the Governor in Council;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister for International Trade:

(a)  pursuant to subsection 16(4) of the Invest in Canada Act, approves the appointment of Katie Curran of Ottawa, Ontario, to act as Chief Executive Officer of the Invest in Canada Hub, to hold office during pleasure for a term of one year, or until such time as a new Chief Executive Officer is appointed, whichever occurs first;

(b)  pursuant to subsection 15(3) of the Invest in Canada Act, fixes her remuneration as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range GC 8 ($206,600 - $243,000); and

(c)  pursuant to subsection 22(1) of the Invest in Canada Act, orders that Katie Curran be deemed to be employed in the Public Service for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act;

effective August 19, 2021.

Attendu que le poste de président-directeur général de Investir au Canada est vacant;

Attendu que, la ministre du Commerce international a nommé Katie Curran, d’Ottawa (Ontario), présidente-directrice générale par intérim de Investir au Canada;

Attendu que la nomination à cette fin est limitée à quatre-vingt-dix jours sans l’approbation du gouverneur en conseil;

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre du Commerce international, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a)  en vertu du paragraphe 16(4) de la Loi sur Investir au Canada, approuve la nomination de Katie Curran, d’Ottawa (Ontario), présidente-directrice générale par intérim de Investir au Canada, à titre amovible pour un mandat d’un an, ou jusqu’à ce qu’un nouveau président-directeur général soit nommé, selon la première de ces éventualités;

b)  en vertu du paragraphe 15(3) de la Loi sur Investir au Canada, fixe sa rémunération conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle GC 8 (206 600 $ – 243 000 $);

c)  en vertu du paragraphe 22(1) de la loi sur Investir au Canada, ordonne que Katie Curran soit réputée faire partie de la fonction publique pour l’application de la Loi sur la pension de la fonction publique;

à compter du 19 août 2021.
