Whereas the office of the Chairperson of the Canada Post Corporation is vacant;

Whereas the Minister of Public Works and Government Services has designated Suromitra Sanatani, director of the Board of Directors of the Canada Post Corporation, to act as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Canada Post Corporation;

And whereas no person may be so designated for a period exceeding ninety days without the approval of the Governor in Council;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Public Works and Government Services, pursuant to subsections 7(2) and 7(3) of the Canada Post Corporation Act, approves the designation of Suromitra Sanatani of Vancouver, British Columbia, to act as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Canada Post Corporation, to hold office during pleasure for a term of one year or until such time as a new Chairperson is appointed, whichever occurs first, and fixes her remuneration and certain conditions of employment as set out in the annexed schedule, which per diem is within the range ($680 - $800) and which annual retainer is within the range ($17,400 - $20,500).

Attendu que le poste de président du conseil de la Société canadienne des postes est vacant;

Attendu que, la ministre des Travaux publics et des Services gouvernementaux a désigné Suromitra Sanatani, administratrice du conseil d’administration de la Société canadienne des postes, au poste de présidente du conseil de la Société canadienne des postes par intérim;

Attendu que la désignation à cette fin est limitée à quatre-vingt-dix jours sans l’approbation du gouverneur en conseil,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre des Travaux publics et des Services gouvernementaux et en vertu des paragraphes 7(2) et 7(3) de la Loi sur la Société canadienne des postes, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil approuve la désignation de Suromitra Sanatani, de Vancouver (Colombie-Britannique), présidente du conseil de la Société canadienne des postes par intérim, à titre amovible pour un mandat d’un an ou jusqu’à ce qu’un nouveau président du conseil soit nommé, selon la première de ces éventualités, et fixe sa rémunération et certaines conditions d’emploi conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, laquelle rémunération est composée d’un taux journalier dans l’échelle (680 $ – 800 $) et des honoraires annuels dans l’échelle (17 400 $ – 20 500 $).
