Whereas the Government of Canada has entered into the Agreement between Canada, the United States of America and the United Mexican States, done at Buenos Aires on November 30, 2018, as amended by the Protocol of Amendment to the Agreement between Canada, the United States of America and the United Mexican States, done at Mexico City on December 10, 2019;

Whereas paragraphs 1 and 4 of Annex 15-D of that Agreement concern matters within the jurisdiction of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission under the Broadcasting Act;

And whereas the Minister of Canadian Heritage has, in accordance with subsection 27(2) of that Act, consulted with the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to paragraph 27(1)(a) of the Broadcasting Act, makes the annexed Direction to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Respecting the Implementation of the Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement.

Attendu que le gouvernement du Canada a conclu l’Accord entre le Canada, les États-Unis d’Amérique et les États-Unis mexicains, fait à Buenos Aires le 30 novembre 2018, tel qu’il a été modifié par le Protocole d’amendement de l’Accord entre le Canada, les États-Unis d’Amérique et les États-Unis mexicains, fait à Mexico le 10 décembre 2019;

Attendu que les paragraphes 1 et 4 de l’annexe 15-D de cet accord portent sur des questions relevant de la compétence du Conseil de la radiodiffusion et des télécommunications canadiennes aux termes de la Loi sur la radiodiffusion;

Attendu que, en application du paragraphe 27(2) de cette loi, le ministre du Patrimoine canadien a consulté le Conseil de la radiodiffusion et des télécommunications canadiennes,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’alinéa 27(1)a) de la Loi sur la radiodiffusion, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil donne les Instructions au Conseil de la radiodiffusion et des télécommunications canadiennes concernant la mise en œuvre de l’Accord Canada–États-Unis–Mexique, ci-après.
