Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, after consultation with the Board of Directors of VIA Rail Canada Inc., pursuant to sections 105 and 108 of the Financial Administration Act, appoints Cynthia Garneau of Laval, Quebec, to be President and Chief Executive Officer of VIA Rail Canada Inc., to hold office during pleasure for a term of five years, and fixes her remuneration and certain conditions of employment as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range CEO 5 ($271,000 - $318,800), effective May 9, 2019.

Sur recommandation du ministre des Transports, après consultation du conseil d’administration de VIA Rail Canada Inc., et en vertu des articles 105 et 108 de la Loi sur la gestion des finances publiques, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil nomme Cynthia Garneau, de Laval (Québec), présidente et première dirigeante de VIA Rail Canada Inc., à titre amovible pour un mandat de cinq ans, et fixe sa rémunération et certaines conditions d’emploi conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle CEO 5 (271 000 $ – 318 800 $), à compter du 9 mai 2019.
