Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to sections 6.4 and 6.5 of the Royal Canadian Mint Act, authorizes the issue of a one-dollar circulation coin, the characteristics of which are to be as specified in item 2.2 of Part 2 of the schedule to that Act and the diameter of which is to be 26.5 mm, and determines the design of those coins to be as follows:

 

(a) the obverse impression is to depict the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, with the initials “SB” on the bottom left-hand corner of the neckline, the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II” and “D∙G∙REGINA” to the left and right of the effigy, respectively, and with beading around the circumference of the coin; and

 

(b) the reverse impression is to depict a stylized rendering of two overlapping human faces within a large circle, the left half of the left face in front view and the right face in profile facing left, the two faces forming one whole face in front view composed of two eyes with eyebrows, a nose, a mouth and two ears with a small hoop earring on the left ear, seven wavy lines and six semi-circular lines emanating from the left and right side of the whole face, respectively, the inscriptions, inset between two semi-circular lines, “EQUALITY” to the lower left of the whole face and “ÉGALITÉ” covering the bottom right and neck of that face, above the left eye of the whole face, a security mark consisting of a maple leaf within a maple leaf, within a double circle, and on the outside of the large circle the inscriptions “CANADA”, “2019”, “DOLLAR” and “1969” to the top, right, bottom and left of the coin, respectively and the artists’s initials “JA”, between the inscriptions “2019” and “DOLLAR”.


 

Sur recommandation du ministre des Finances et en vertu des articles 6.4 et 6.5 de la Loi sur la Monnaie royale canadienne, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil autorise l’émission d’une pièce de monnaie de circulation de un dollar dont les caractéristiques sont précisées à l’article 2.2 de la partie 2 de l’annexe de cette loi, dont le diamètre est de 26,5 mm et dont le dessin est fixé de la manière suivante :

 

a) à l’avers sont gravés l’effigie de Sa Majesté la reine Elizabeth II réalisée par Susanna Blunt, les initiales « SB » dans le coin inférieur gauche à côté de l’encolure, les inscriptions « ELIZABETH II » et « D∙G∙REGINA » à la gauche et à la droite de l’effigie, respectivement, ainsi qu’un grènetis soulignant le pourtour de la pièce,

 

b) au revers sont gravés, à l’intérieur d’un grand cercle, un dessin stylisé représentant deux visages humains se chevauchant, la moitié gauche du visage de gauche vue de face et le visage de droite vu de profil et tourné vers la gauche, les deux visages formant un visage entier vu de face, composé de deux yeux surmontés de sourcils, d’un nez, d’une bouche et de deux oreilles dont celle de gauche porte un petit anneau, sept lignes ondulées émanant du côté gauche du visage entier et six lignes semi-circulaires émanant du côté droit de ce visage, les inscriptions, chacune entre deux lignes semi-circulaires, « EQUALITY » au bas, à la gauche du visage entier et « ÉGALITÉ » couvrant le cou et une partie du visage de droite, au-dessus de l’œil gauche du visage entier, une marque de sécurité composée d’une feuille d’érable contenue dans une autre feuille d’érable et figurant dans un double cercle, sur le pourtour de la pièce, à l’extérieur du grand cercle, en haut, à droite, en bas et à gauche, les inscriptions « CANADA », « 2019 », « DOLLAR » et « 1969 », respectivement, et entre les inscriptions « 2019 » et « DOLLAR », les initiales de l’artiste « JA ».
