Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Science, pursuant to section 3 and subsections 5(1) and 7(1) of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Act,

(a) terminates the appointment of Digvir S. Jayas as a member of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, to permit him to serve as interim President of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council;

(b) appoints Digvir S. Jayas of Winnipeg, Manitoba as interim President of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, on a part-time basis, to hold office during pleasure for a term of one year or until such time as a new President is appointed, whichever occurs first; and

(c) fixes his remuneration and certain conditions of employment as set out in the annexed schedule which remuneration is within the range ($206,600 - $243,000);

effective at the end of the term set out in paragraph (b), re-appoints Digvir S. Jayas, as a member of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, until May 14, 2021.

Sur recommandation de la ministre des Sciences et en vertu de l’article 3 et des paragraphes 5(1) et 7(1) de la Loi sur le Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil,

a)  met fin à la nomination de Digvir S. Jayas à titre de conseiller du Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie pour lui permettre de servir comme président par intérim du Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie;

b)  nomme Digvir S. Jayas, de Winnipeg (Manitoba), président par intérim du Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie, à temps partiel, à titre amovible pour un mandat d’un an ou jusqu’à ce qu’un nouveau président soit nommé, selon la première de ces éventualités;

c)  fixe sa rémunération et certaines conditions d’emploi conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle (206 600 $ – 243 000 $);

à compter de la fin du mandat prévu au paragraphe b), nomme de nouveau Digvir S. Jayas, conseiller du Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie, jusqu’au 14 mai 2021.
