Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, authorizes the Minister of Foreign Affairs

(a) to sign, on behalf of the Government of Canada, subject to ratification, the Agreement between the Government of Canada and the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization in relation to the functioning of the Canadian Commissioner of Patents as an International Searching Authority and International Preliminary Examining Authority under the Patent Cooperation Treaty; or

(b) to execute and issue an Instrument of Full Powers authorizing Johanne Bélisle, Commissioner of Patents, Registrar of Trade-marks and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Intellectual Property Office; Stephen de Boer, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Canada to the World Trade Organization, in Geneva; Konstantinos Georgaras, Director General, Corporate Strategies and Services Branch, Canadian Intellectual Property Office; or Scott Vasudev, Director, Patent Policy and International Affairs, Patent Branch, Canadian Intellectual Property Office, to sign, on behalf of the Government of Canada, subject to ratification, the Agreement between the Government of Canada and the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization in relation to the functioning of the Canadian Commissioner of Patents as an International Searching Authority and International Preliminary Examining Authority under the Patent Cooperation Treaty.

Sur recommandation de la ministre des Affaires étrangères, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil autorise celle-ci :

a) soit à signer, au nom du gouvernement du Canada, sous réserve de ratification, l’Accord entre le gouvernement du Canada et le Bureau international de l’Organisation mondiale de la Propriété intellectuelle concernant les fonctions du Commissaire aux brevets du Canada en qualité d’administration chargée de la recherche internationale et d’administration chargée de l’examen préliminaire international au titre du Traité de coopération en matière de brevets;

b) soit à signer et à délivrer un instrument de pleins pouvoirs autorisant Johanne Bélisle, commissaire aux brevets, registraire des marques de commerce et présidente de l’Office de la propriété intellectuelle du Canada, ou Stephen de Boer, ambassadeur et représentant permanent du Canada auprès de l’Organisation mondiale du commerce, à Genève, ou Konstantinos Georgaras, directeur général, Direction des stratégies et services organisationnels, Office de la propriété intellectuelle du Canada, ou Scott Vasudev, directeur, Politique des brevets et des affaires internationales, Direction des brevets, Office de la propriété intellectuelle du Canada, à signer, au nom du gouvernement du Canada, sous réserve de ratification, l’Accord entre le gouvernement du Canada et le Bureau international de l’Organisation mondiale de la Propriété intellectuelle concernant les fonctions du Commissaire aux brevets du Canada en qualité d’administration chargée de la recherche internationale et d’administration chargée de l’examen préliminaire international au titre du Traité de coopération en matière de brevets.
