Whereas the Honourable Paul J. Pearlman, a Judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, who has attained the age of fifty-five years, who has continued in judicial office for at least ten years and who has elected early retirement with an immediate annuity, has tendered his resignation effective May 7, 2018;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice,

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Paul J. Pearlman; and

(b) pursuant to subsection 43.1(1) of the Judges Act, grants to the Honourable Paul J. Pearlman an annuity of $147,221.33, commencing on May 7, 2018 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Paul J. Pearlman, juge de la Cour suprême de la Colombie-Britannique, ayant atteint l’âge de cinquante-cinq ans, ayant au moins dix ans d’ancienneté dans la magistrature et ayant choisi une retraite anticipée avec une pension immédiate, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 7 mai 2018,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable Paul J. Pearlman;

b) en vertu du paragraphe 43.1(1) de la Loi sur les juges, accorde à l’honorable Paul J. Pearlman une pension viagère annuelle de 147 221,33 $, payable à compter du 7 mai 2018.
