Whereas the Honourable John I. Laskin, a Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal for Ontario, will attain the age of seventy-five years on March 19, 2018, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of subsection 99(2) of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas the Honourable John I. Laskin has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, grants an annuity of $210,200 to the Honourable John I. Laskin, commencing on March 19, 2018 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable John I. Laskin, juge d’appel de la Cour d’appel de l’Ontario, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 19 mars 2018 et que, en conséquence, il cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu du paragraphe 99(2) de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que l’honorable John I. Laskin a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable John I. Laskin une pension viagère annuelle de 210 200 $, payable à compter du 19 mars 2018.
