Whereas the Honourable Michel Caron, a puisne Judge of the Superior Court of Quebec for the district of Montréal, who has attained the age of fifty-five years, who has continued in judicial office for at least ten years and who has elected early retirement with an immediate annuity, has tendered his resignation effective April 3, 2018;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice,

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Michel Caron; and

(b) pursuant to subsection 43.1(1) of the Judges Act, grants to the Honourable Michel Caron an annuity of $183,574.67, commencing on April 3, 2018 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Michel Caron, juge de la Cour supérieure du Québec pour le district de Montréal, ayant atteint l’âge de cinquante-cinq ans, ayant au moins dix ans d’ancienneté dans la magistrature et ayant choisi une retraite anticipée avec une pension immédiate, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 3 avril 2018,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable Michel Caron;

b) en vertu du paragraphe 43.1(1) de la Loi sur les juges, accorde à l’honorable Michel Caron une pension viagère annuelle de 183 574,67 $, payable à compter du 3 avril 2018.
