Whereas the Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, the Honourable Richard J. Chartier, Chief Justice of Manitoba, will be unable to act from November 3 to November 7, 2017, inclusive, and from November 20 to November 27, 2017, inclusive, and it is therefore necessary that other persons be appointed Administrator for those periods;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867,

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Richard J. Chartier as Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, effective November 3, 2017;

(b) appoints the Honourable Freda M. Steel to be Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective November 3, 2017;

(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Freda M. Steel as Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, effective November 8, 2017;

(d) appoints the Honourable Richard J. Chartier to be Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective November 8, 2017;

(e) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Richard J. Chartier as Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, effective November 20, 2017;

(f) appoints the Honourable Shane I. Perlmutter to be Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective November 20, 2017;

(g) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Shane I. Perlmutter as Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, effective November 28, 2017; and

(h) appoints the Honourable Richard J. Chartier to be Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective November 28, 2017.

Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, l’honorable Richard J. Chartier, juge en chef du Manitoba, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions du 3 au 7 novembre 2017 et du 20 au 27 novembre 2017 et qu’il est donc nécessaire que d’autres personnes soient nommées administrateurs pour ces périodes,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Richard J. Chartier au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, avec prise d’effet le 3 novembre 2017;

b) nomme l’honorable Freda M. Steel à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba afin qu’elle remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Manitoba durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 3 novembre 2017;

c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Freda M. Steel au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, avec prise d’effet le 8 novembre 2017;

d) nomme l’honorable Richard J. Chartier à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Manitoba durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 8 novembre 2017;

e) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Richard J. Chartier au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, avec prise d’effet le 20 novembre 2017;

f) nomme l’honorable Shane I. Perlmutter à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Manitoba durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 20 novembre 2017;

g) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Shane I. Perlmutter au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, avec prise d’effet le 28 novembre 2017;

h) nomme l’honorable Richard J. Chartier à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Manitoba durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 28 novembre 2017.
