His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, after consultation with the board of directors of VIA Rail Canada Inc., pursuant to section 105 of the Financial Administration Act, appoints Françoise Bertrand, O.C., C.Q., of Montréal, Quebec, to be Chairperson of VIA Rail Canada Inc., to hold office during pleasure for a term of five years, and fixes her remuneration and certain conditions of employment as set out in the annexed schedule, which remuneration is comprised of a per diem of $485 and an annual retainer of $12,400.

   Sur recommandation du ministre des Transports, après consultation du conseil d’administration de VIA Rail Canada Inc., et en vertu de l’article 105 de la Loi sur la gestion des finances publiques, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil nomme Françoise Bertrand, O.C., C.Q., de Montréal (Québec), présidente de VIA Rail Canada Inc., à titre amovible pour une période de cinq ans, et fixe sa rémunération et certaines conditions d’emploi conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, laquelle rémunération est composée d’un taux journalier de 485 $ et des honoraires annuels de 12 400 $.
