Whereas the Honourable J. Gary Lane, a Judge of the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, will attain the age of seventy-five years on May 2, 2017, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under subsection 99(2) of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas the Honourable J. Gary Lane has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, grants an annuity of $209,400 to the Honourable J. Gary Lane, commencing on May 2, 2017 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable J. Gary Lane, juge de la Cour d’appel de la Saskatchewan, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 2 mai 2017 et que, en conséquence, il cessera d’occuper sa charge à cette date en application du paragraphe 99(2) de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que l’honorable J. Gary Lane a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil accorde à l’honorable J. Gary Lane une pension viagère annuelle de 209 400 $, payable à compter du 2 mai 2017.
