Whereas the Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, the Honourable Richard J. Chartier, Chief Justice of Manitoba, will be unable to act from March 19 to March 21, 2017, inclusive, from April 2 to April 7, 2017, inclusive, and from April 21 to April 28, 2017, inclusive, and it is therefore necessary that another person be appointed Administrator for those periods;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867,

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Richard J. Chartier as Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, effective March 19, 2017;

(b) appoints the Honourable Michel A. Monnin to be Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective

March 19, 2017;

(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Michel A. Monnin as Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, effective March 22, 2017;

(d) appoints the Honourable Richard J. Chartier to be Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective

March 22, 2017;

(e) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Richard J. Chartier as Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, effective April 2, 2017;

(f) appoints the Honourable Michel A. Monnin to be Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective April 2, 2017;

(g) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Michel A. Monnin as Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, effective

April 8, 2017;

(h) appoints the Honourable Richard J. Chartier to be Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective

April 8, 2017;

(i) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Richard J. Chartier as Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, effective April 21, 2017;

(j) appoints the Honourable Michel A. Monnin to be Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective

April 21, 2017;

 (k) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Michel A. Monnin as Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, effective

April 29, 2017; and

(l) appoints the Honourable Richard J. Chartier to be Administrator of the Government of Manitoba, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective

April 29, 2017.

Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, l’honorable Richard J. Chartier, juge en chef du Manitoba, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions du 19 au 21 mars 2017, du 2 au 7 avril 2017 et du 21 au 28 avril 2017 et qu’il est donc nécessaire qu’une autre personne soit nommée administrateur pour ces périodes,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Richard J. Chartier au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, avec prise d’effet le 19 mars 2017;

b) nomme l’honorable Michel A. Monnin à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Manitoba durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 19 mars 2017;

c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Michel A. Monnin au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, avec prise d’effet le 22 mars 2017;

d) nomme l’honorable Richard J. Chartier à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Manitoba durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 22 mars 2017;

e) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Richard J. Chartier au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, avec prise d’effet le 2 avril 2017;

f) nomme l’honorable Michel A. Monnin à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Manitoba durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 2 avril 2017;

g) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Michel A. Monnin au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, avec prise d’effet le 8 avril 2017;

h) nomme l’honorable Richard J. Chartier à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Manitoba durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 8 avril 2017;

i) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Richard J. Chartier au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, avec prise d’effet le 21 avril 2017;

j) nomme l’honorable Michel A. Monnin à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Manitoba durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 21 avril 2017;

k) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Michel A. Monnin au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba, avec prise d’effet le 29 avril 2017;

l) nomme l’honorable Richard J. Chartier à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Manitoba afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Manitoba durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 29 avril 2017.
