 Whereas the Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, the Honourable Robert J. Bauman, Chief Justice of British Columbia, will be unable to act from April 4 to April 7, 2017, inclusive, from April 30 to May 2, 2017, inclusive, and from May 14 to May 19, 2017, inclusive, and it is therefore necessary that another person be appointed Administrator for those periods;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867,

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Robert J. Bauman as Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, effective April 4, 2017;

(b) appoints the Honourable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul to be Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective April 4, 2017;

(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul as Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, effective April 8, 2017;

(d) appoints the Honourable Robert J. Bauman to be Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective April 8, 2017;

(e) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Robert J. Bauman as Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, effective April 30, 2017;

(f) appoints the Honourable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul to be Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective April 30, 2017;

(g) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul as Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, effective May 3, 2017;

(h) appoints the Honourable Robert J. Bauman to be Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective May 3, 2017;

(i) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Robert J. Bauman as Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, effective May 14, 2017;

(j) appoints the Honourable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul to be Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective May 14, 2017;

(k) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul as Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, effective May 20, 2017; and

(l) appoints the Honourable Robert J. Bauman to be Administrator of the Government of British Columbia, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective May 20, 2017.

 Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique, l’honorable Robert J. Bauman, juge en chef de la Colombie-Britannique, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions du 4 au 7 avril 2017, du 30 avril au 2 mai 2017 et du 14 au 19 mai 2017 et qu’il est donc nécessaire qu’une autre personne soit nommée administrateur pour ces périodes,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Robert J. Bauman au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique, avec prise d’effet le 4 avril 2017;

b) nomme l’honorable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Colombie-Britannique durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 4 avril 2017;

c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique, avec prise d’effet le 8 avril 2017;

d) nomme l’honorable Robert J. Bauman à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Colombie-Britannique durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 8 avril 2017;

e) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Robert J. Bauman au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique, avec prise d’effet le 30 avril 2017;

f) nomme l’honorable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Colombie-Britannique durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 30 avril 2017;

g) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique, avec prise d’effet le 3 mai 2017;

h) nomme l’honorable Robert J. Bauman à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Colombie-Britannique durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 3 mai 2017;

i) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Robert J. Bauman au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique, avec prise d’effet le 14 mai 2017;

j) nomme l’honorable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Colombie-Britannique durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 14 mai 2017;

k) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Geoffrey R.J. Gaul au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique, avec prise d’effet le 20 mai 2017;

l) nomme l’honorable Robert J. Bauman à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de la Colombie-Britannique durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 20 mai 2017.
