Whereas the Administrator of the Government of Quebec, the Honourable Julie Dutil, Judge of the Court of Appeal of Quebec, will be unable to act from March 25 to April 14, 2017, inclusive, and it is therefore necessary that another person be appointed Administrator for that period;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867,

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Julie Dutil as Administrator of the Government of Quebec, effective March 25, 2017;

(b) appoints the Honourable Lorne Giroux to be Administrator of the Government of Quebec, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective March 25, 2017;

(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Lorne Giroux as Administrator of the Government of Quebec, effective April 15, 2017; and

(d) appoints the Honourable Julie Dutil to be Administrator of the Government of Quebec, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective April 15, 2017.

Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec, l’honorable Julie Dutil, juge de la Cour d’appel du Québec, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions du 25 mars au 14 avril 2017 et qu’il est donc nécessaire qu’une autre personne soit nommée administrateur pour cette période,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Julie Dutil au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec, avec prise d’effet le 25 mars 2017;

b) nomme l’honorable Lorne Giroux à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Québec durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 25 mars 2017;

c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Lorne Giroux au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec, avec prise d’effet le 15 avril 2017;

d) nomme l’honorable Julie Dutil à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement du Québec afin qu’elle remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur du Québec durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 15 avril 2017.
