His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to sections 6.4 and 6.5 of the Royal Canadian Mint Act, authorizes the issue of a twenty-five cent circulation coin, the characteristics of which are to be as specified in item 4.1 of Part 2 of the schedule to that Act and the diameter of which is to be 23.88 mm, and determines the design of the coin to be as follows:
(a) the obverse impression is to depict the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, with the initials “SB” on the bottom left-hand corner of the neckline and, the inscriptions “CANADA”, “D•G•REGINA”, “25 CENTS” and “ELIZABETH II” to the top, right, bottom and left of the effigy, respectively; and
(b) the reverse impression is to depict the Stanley Cup flanked to the left by a hockey player in period uniform and on the right by a hockey player in modern-day uniform, with the symbols “®/MC” appearing to the right of the Stanley Cup, a banner whose left fold appears above the player to the left with the inscription “1892”, whose middle fold appears above the Stanley Cup with the inscription “COUPE STANLEYMC CUP®” and whose right fold appears above the player to the right with the inscription “2017”, and the inscription “125 YEARS ANS” appearing at the bottom of the coin.
Sur recommandation du ministre des Finances et en vertu des articles 6.4 et 6.5 de la Loi sur la Monnaie royale canadienne, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil autorise l’émission d’une pièce de monnaie de circulation de vingt-cinq cents dont les caractéristiques sont précisées à l’article 4.1 de la partie 2 de l’annexe de cette loi, dont le diamètre est de 23,88 mm et dont le dessin est fixé de la manière suivante :
a) à l’avers sont gravées l’effigie de Sa Majesté la Reine Elizabeth II réalisée par Susanna Blunt, les initiales « SB » dans le coin inférieur gauche à côté de la ligne de démarcation du cou et, en haut, à droite, en bas et à gauche de l’effigie, respectivement, les inscriptions « CANADA », « D•G•REGINA », « 25 CENTS » et « ELIZABETH II »;
b) au revers sont gravés une représentation de la coupe Stanley bordée à sa gauche d’un joueur vêtu de l’uniforme de l’époque et à sa droite d’un joueur vêtu de l’uniforme moderne, les symboles « ®/MC » à la droite de la coupe, une bannière dont le pli gauche portant l’inscription « 1892 » se trouve au-dessus du joueur de gauche, dont le pli du centre portant l’inscription « COUPE STANLEYMC CUP® » se trouve au-dessus de la coupe Stanley et dont le pli droit portant l’inscription « 2017 » se trouve au-dessus du joueur de droite, et l’inscription « 125 YEARS ANS » au bas de la pièce.
