Whereas the Honourable Hélène LeBel, a Judge of the Superior Court of Quebec for the District of Montréal, in the Province of Quebec, will attain the age of seventy-five years on January 1, 2017, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of subsection 99(2) of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas the Honourable Hélène LeBel has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, grants an annuity of $209,400 to the Honourable Hélène LeBel, commencing on January 1, 2017 and continuing during her life.

Attendu que l’honorable Hélène LeBel, juge de la Cour supérieure du Québec pour le district de Montréal, dans la province de Québec, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 1^er janvier 2017 et que, en conséquence, elle cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en application du paragraphe 99(2) de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que l’honorable Hélène LeBel a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil accorde à l’honorable Hélène LeBel une pension viagère annuelle de 209 400 $, payable à compter du 1^er janvier 2017.
