Whereas the Honourable Raymond J. Halley, a Judge of the Trial Division of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, will attain the age of seventy-five years on January 1, 2017 and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of subsection 99(2) of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas the Honourable Raymond J. Halley has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, grants an annuity of $209,400 to the Honourable Raymond J. Halley, commencing on January 1, 2017 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Raymond J. Halley, juge de la Division de première instance de la Cour suprême de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 1^er janvier 2017 et que, en conséquence, il cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en application du paragraphe 99(2) de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que l’honorable Raymond J. Halley a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil accorde à l’honorable Raymond J. Halley une pension viagère annuelle de 209 400 $, payable à compter du 1^er janvier 2017.
