Whereas the Honourable Kirk L. Sisson, a Judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, who has attained the age of fifty-five years, who has continued in judicial office for at least ten years and who has elected early retirement with an immediate annuity, has tendered his resignation effective January 3, 2017;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice,

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Kirk L. Sisson; and

(b) pursuant to subsection 43.1(1) of the Judges Act, grants to the Honourable Kirk L. Sisson an annuity of $142,392, commencing on January 3, 2017 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Kirk L. Sisson, juge de la Cour du Banc de la Reine de l’Alberta, ayant atteint l’âge de cinquante-cinq ans, ayant au moins dix ans d’ancienneté dans la magistrature et ayant choisi une retraite anticipée avec une pension immédiate, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 3 janvier 2017,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable Kirk L. Sisson;

b) en vertu du paragraphe 43.1(1) de la Loi sur les juges, accorde à l’honorable Kirk L. Sisson une pension viagère annuelle de 142 392 $, payable à compter du 3 janvier 2017.
