Whereas the Honourable J. Robert MacKinnon, a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice in and for the Province of Ontario, who has continued in judicial office for at least fifteen years, has tendered his resignation effective November 6, 2016 and as of this date his combined age and number of years in judicial office is not less than eighty;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice,

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable J. Robert MacKinnon; and

(b) pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(a) of the Judges Act, grants to the Honourable J. Robert MacKinnon an annuity of $209,400, commencing on November 6, 2016 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable J. Robert MacKinnon, juge de la Cour supérieure de justice de l’Ontario, après avoir exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins quinze ans, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 6 novembre 2016, et que, à cette date, le chiffre obtenu par l’addition de son âge et du nombre d’années d’exercice est d’au moins quatre-vingts,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable J. Robert MacKinnon;

b) en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)a) de la Loi sur les juges, accorde à l’honorable J. Robert MacKinnon une pension viagère de 209 400 $, payable à compter du 6 novembre 2016.
