His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister:

(a)  pursuant to subsection 8(1) of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Act, appoints Timothy Sargent of Ottawa, Ontario, to be Associate Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, to hold office during pleasure;

(b)  pursuant to subsection 8(2) of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Act, designates Timothy Sargent to be Deputy Minister for International Trade to be styled Deputy Minister of International Trade; and

(c)  fixes his remuneration as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range

($221,300 - $260,300);

effective October 24, 2016.

Sur recommandation du premier ministre, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a)  en vertu du paragraphe 8(1) de la Loi sur le ministère des Affaires étrangères, du Commerce et du Développement, nomme Timothy Sargent, d’Ottawa (Ontario), au poste de sous-ministre délégué aux Affaires étrangères, à titre amovible;

b)  en vertu du paragraphe 8(2) de la Loi sur le ministère des Affaires étrangères, du Commerce et du Développement, désigne Timothy Sargent comme sous-ministre du Commerce international;

c)  fixe sa rémunération conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, lequel traitement se situe dans l’échelle

(221 300 $ - 260 300 $);

à compter du 24 octobre 2016.
