His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, pursuant to section 48 of the Canada Transportation Act, approves that the Minister of Transport enter into grant and contribution agreements with the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, Indigenous groups or other Indigenous organizations that are eligible recipients under the Participant Funding Program for Reviews Related to Fish, Fish Habitat and Navigation, for an amount not to exceed $250,000, which is the maximum annual amount per eligible recipient, for the purpose of encouraging the effective participation of those eligible recipients and of increasing the capacity of those recipients to become involved in the reviews and to share their knowledge and expertise in order to contribute to the safety of Canada’s marine transportation system.

 

Sur recommandation du ministre des Transports et en vertu de l’article 48 de la Loi sur les transports au Canada, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil agrée la conclusion, par le ministre des Transports, d’accords de subvention et contribution avec le ministre des Pêches et des Océans, des groupes autochtones ou d’autres organisations autochtones qui sont des bénéficiaires admissibles en vertu du Programme de Fonds d’aide financière aux participants pour les examens liés aux poissons, à leur habitat et à la navigation, d’une somme ne dépassant pas 250 000 $, étant le montant maximal par bénéficiaire admissible par année, afin d’encourager la participation tangible de ces bénéficiaires admissibles et d’augmenter la capacité de ceux-ci à participer aux examens et à mettre en commun leurs connaissances et leur expertise pour contribuer à la sûreté du système de transport maritime du Canada.
