Whereas the Honourable Douglas Rutherford, a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice in and for the Province of Ontario, will attain the age of seventy-five years on August 12, 2016, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of subsection 99(2) of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas the Honourable Douglas Rutherford has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, grants an annuity of $209,400 to the Honourable Douglas Rutherford, commencing on August 12, 2016 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Douglas Rutherford, juge de la Cour supérieure de justice de l’Ontario, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 12 août 2016 et que, en conséquence, il cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu du paragraphe 99(2) de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que l’honorable Douglas Rutherford a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil accorde à l’honorable Douglas Rutherford, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 209 400 $, payable à compter du 12 août 2016.
