Whereas the Honourable Catherine J. Bruce, a Judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, who has attained the age of fifty-five years, who has continued in judicial office for at least ten years and who has elected early retirement with an immediate annuity, has tendered her resignation effective September 23, 2016;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice,

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Catherine J. Bruce; and

(b) pursuant to subsection 43.1(1) of the Judges Act, grants to the Honourable Catherine J. Bruce an annuity of $139,600, commencing on September 23, 2016 and continuing during her life.

Attendu que l’honorable Catherine J. Bruce, juge de la Cour suprême de la Colombie-Britannique, ayant atteint l’âge de cinquante-cinq ans, ayant au moins dix ans d’ancienneté dans la magistrature et ayant choisi une retraite anticipée avec une pension immédiate, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 23 septembre 2016,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable Catherine J. Bruce;

b) en vertu du paragraphe 43.1(1) de la Loi sur les juges, accorde à l’honorable Catherine J. Bruce, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 139 600 $, payable à compter du 23 septembre 2016.
