Whereas the Administrator of the Government of Ontario, the Honourable George R. Strathy, Chief Justice of Ontario, will be unable to act from June 2 to June 4, 2016, inclusive, and it is therefore necessary that another person be appointed Administrator for that period;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to section 67 of the Constitution Act, 1867,

(a) terminates the appointment of the Honourable George R. Strathy as Administrator of the Government of Ontario, effective June 2, 2016;

(b) appoints the Honourable Alexandra H. Hoy to be Administrator of the Government of Ontario, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective June 2, 2016;

(c) terminates the appointment of the Honourable Alexandra H. Hoy as Administrator of the Government of Ontario, effective June 5, 2016; and

(d) appoints the Honourable George R. Strathy to be Administrator of the Government of Ontario, to execute the office and functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario during the absence, illness or other inability of the Lieutenant Governor, effective June 5, 2016.

Attendu que l’administrateur du gouvernement de l’Ontario, l’honorable George R. Strathy, juge en chef de l’Ontario, ne sera pas en mesure de remplir ses fonctions du 2 au 4 juin 2016 et qu’il est donc nécessaire qu’une autre personne soit nommée administrateur pour cette période,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre du Patrimoine canadien et en vertu de l’article 67 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable George R. Strathy au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de l’Ontario, avec prise d’effet le 2 juin 2016;

b) nomme l’honorable Alexandra H. Hoy à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de l’Ontario afin qu’elle remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de l’Ontario durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 2 juin 2016;

c) met fin à la nomination de l’honorable Alexandra H. Hoy au poste d’administrateur du gouvernement de l’Ontario, avec prise d’effet le 5 juin 2016;

d) nomme l’honorable George R. Strathy à titre d’administrateur du gouvernement de l’Ontario afin qu’il remplisse les fonctions de lieutenant-gouverneur de l’Ontario durant l’absence, la maladie ou autre incapacité de ce dernier, avec prise d’effet le 5 juin 2016.
