Whereas the Honourable Murray Sinclair, a Judge of Her Majesty’s Court of Queen’s Bench for Manitoba, who has continued in judicial office for at least fifteen years, has tendered his resignation effective April 2, 2016 and as of this date his combined age and number of years in judicial office is not less than eighty;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice,

(a) accepts the resignation of the Honourable Murray Sinclair; and

(b) pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(a) of the Judges Act, grants to the Honourable Murray Sinclair an annuity of $209,400, commencing on April 2, 2016 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Murray Sinclair, juge de la Cour du Banc de la Reine du Manitoba, après avoir exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins quinze ans, a donné sa démission, laquelle prend effet le 2 avril 2016, et que, à cette date, le chiffre obtenu par l’addition de son âge et du nombre d’années d’exercice est d’au moins quatre-vingts,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) accepte la démission de l’honorable Murray Sinclair;

b) en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)a) de la Loi sur les juges, accorde à l’honorable Murray Sinclair, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 209 400 $, payable à compter du 2 avril 2016.
