Whereas, by Order in Council P.C. 1992-121 of January 23, 1992, the resignation of the Honourable James H. Laycraft as Chief Justice of the Court of Appeal of Alberta was accepted and he was granted an annuity of $107,866.66, effective December 31, 1991;

And whereas the Honourable James H. Laycraft died on August 5, 2015, leaving a survivor, Helen Laycraft;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to section 44 of the Judges Act, grants an annuity of $53,933.33 to Helen Laycraft, effective August 6, 2015, and to continue during her life.

Attendu que, par le décret C.P. 1992-121 du 23 janvier 1992, la démission de l’honorable James H. Laycraft comme juge en chef de la Cour d’appel de l’Alberta a été acceptée et qu’il recevait une pension annuelle de 107 866,66 $ depuis le 31 décembre 1991;

Attendu que l’honorable James H. Laycraft est décédé le 5 août 2015 et qu’il laisse une survivante, Helen Laycraft,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’article 44 de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil accorde, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 53 933,33 $ à Helen Laycraft, payable à compter du 6 août 2015.
