PC Number: 2015-1124

Date: 2015-07-21

   The Committee of the Privy Council has had before it a report from the Right Honourable Stephen Joseph Harper, the Prime Minister, stating that by Commission dated the 28th day of May, 2007, the Honourable Pierre Duchesne was appointed Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Quebec, and

   That the said Honourable Pierre Duchesne made and subscribed the Oaths of Allegiance and Office prescribed by section 61 of the Constitution Act, 1867 and assumed the duties of the said office on the 7th day of June, 2007.

   The Committee, therefore, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, advises that a Commission under the Great Seal of Canada do issue appointing J. Michel Doyon, Q.C., of Québec, in the Province of Quebec, to be Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Quebec, and that, from the date on which the said J. Michel Doyon, Q.C., makes and subscribes the Oaths of Allegiance and Office prescribed by section 61 of the Constitution Act, 1867, the Commission issued hereunder shall supersede the Commission appointing the Honourable Pierre Duchesne to be Lieutenant Governor of the said Province.

   Le très honorable Stephen Joseph Harper, premier ministre, avait présenté au Comité du Conseil privé un rapport déclarant que l’honorable Pierre Duchesne était nommé lieutenant-gouverneur de la province de Québec, en vertu d’une commission datée du 28 mai 2007;
