His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to section 18 of the National Defence Act, appoints Lieutenant-General Jonathan H. Vance of Ottawa, Ontario, to be the Chief of the Defence Staff, at the rank of General, and fixes his remuneration at the rate set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range ($219,100 - $257,700), effective on the day on which the change of command ceremony takes place.

(219 100 $ - 257 700 $), à compter de la date de la cérémonie de changement de commandement.
