His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister,

(a) pursuant to section 128 of the Constitution Act, 1867, authorizes Charles Robert, interim Clerk of the Senate and interim Clerk of the Parliaments, of Ottawa, Ontario, to administer the Oath of Allegiance contained in the Fifth Schedule to that Act to every member of the Senate of Canada and to receive the Declaration of Qualification contained in that Schedule, and to have that power during his tenure of office as interim Clerk of the Senate and interim Clerk of the Parliaments; and

(b) orders that a Commission under the Great Seal of Canada do issue to Charles Robert evidencing the authorization referred to in paragraph (a).

Sur recommandation du premier ministre, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil :

a) en vertu de l’article 128 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867, autorise Charles Robert, greffier intérimaire du Sénat et greffier intérimaire des Parlements, d’Ottawa (Ontario), à faire prêter et souscrire, à tout membre du Sénat, le serment d’allégeance énoncé dans la cinquième annexe de cette loi ainsi que la déclaration des qualifications énoncée dans cette annexe, et à détenir ce pouvoir pendant la période où il occupera le poste de greffier intérimaire du Sénat et greffier intérimaire des Parlements;

b) ordonne que soit délivré à Charles Robert une commission, sous le grand sceau du Canada, attestant l’autorisation visée à l’alinéa a).
