Whereas the Governor in Council is of the opinion that

(a) there is an outbreak of a communicable disease, namely Ebola virus disease, in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone;

(b) the introduction or spread of the disease would pose an imminent and severe risk to public health in Canada;

(c) the entry of persons who have recently been in any of those countries into Canada may introduce or contribute to the spread of the disease in Canada; and

(d) no reasonable alternatives to prevent the introduction or spread of the disease are available;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Health, pursuant to section 58 of the Quarantine Act, makes the annexed Minimizing the Risk of Exposure to Ebola Virus Disease in Canada Order (No. 2).

Attendu que le gouverneur en conseil est d’avis :

a) que la Guinée, le Libéria et la Sierra Leone sont aux prises avec l’apparition d’une maladie transmissible, soit la maladie à virus Ebola;

b) que l’introduction ou la propagation de cette maladie présenterait un danger grave et imminent pour la santé publique au Canada;

c) que l’entrée au Canada des personnes qui ont récemment séjourné dans l’un de ces pays favoriserait l’introduction ou la propagation de la maladie au Canada;

d) qu’il n’existe aucune autre solution raisonnable permettant de prévenir l’introduction ou la propagation de la maladie au Canada,

À ces causes, sur recommandation de la ministre de la Santé et en vertu de l’article 58 de la Loi sur la mise en quarantaine, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil prend le Décret n^o 2 visant la réduction du risque d’exposition à la maladie à virus Ebola au Canada, ci-après.
