His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, pursuant to section 48 of the Canada Transportation Act, approves that the Minister of Transport enter into a contribution agreement with the Centre of Excellence for Marine Transportation of Oil and LNG Commodities in Canada Society, for a total amount not to exceed $3,700,000, for the implementation of the Contribution Program for the Centre of Excellence for Marine Transportation of Oil and Liquefied Natural Gas, which is designed to enhance knowledge and awareness of best practices relating to the safe and environmentally sustainable marine transportation of oil and liquefied natural gas in order to contribute to the development of a world-class tanker safety system.

Sur recommandation de la ministre des Transports et en vertu de l’article 48 de la Loi sur les transports au Canada, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil agrée la conclusion, par la ministre des Transports, d’un accord de contribution avec le Centre of Excellence for Marine Transportation of Oil and LNG Commodities in Canada Society d’une somme totale ne dépassant pas 3 700 000 $ pour la mise en œuvre du Programme de contribution au Centre d’excellence pour le transport maritime de produits pétroliers et de gaz naturel liquéfié, lequel programme vise à accroître les connaissances et la sensibilisation en ce qui concerne les meilleures pratiques en matière de transport sécuritaire et durable sur le plan environnemental de produits pétroliers et de gaz naturel liquéfié par voie maritime, afin de contribuer au développement d’un système de sécurité de classe mondiale pour les navires-citernes.
